    M&J Engineering, P.C. is looking for a Marketing & Business Development Assistant, for its New Hyde Park office in NY, to support pursuit/proposal preparation and design efforts, as well as perform a variety of functions in a fast-paced consulting environment. Successful candidates will possess a positive attitude, dedicated work ethic, strong sense of professionalism, and the ability to work within a growing team. Excellent writing and proofreading skills, and creative graphic design capabilities are a plus.

    As the Marketing & Business Development Assistant, you will report to the Marketing Manager and East Coast Region Business Development Manager. This position was created in response to expanding business development efforts and an emerging need for a motivated staff member to assist in the coordination of selected RFQ/ RFP responses, design and prepare new marketing materials (proposal covers, tabs, binders, brochures, booklet advertisements, graphics advertising company latest news updates for digital use, and other promotional material.)

    In M&J’s extraordinarily active and inventive environment, you will have standing responsibilities but will also be asked to take on individual tasks as needed. You will interact regularly with everyone in the office!

    Responsibilities

    Supporting pre-RFP capture activities and current RFP pursuit activities via market research of various client opportunities, collecting, analyzing preliminary documentation and communicating it to the appropriate Client Managers

     

    • Tracking RFPs and following up with the appropriate Client Managers regarding Go/No-Go
    • Preparing proposals and presentations from the initial stage to final production and delivery, which includes some writing, copy editing, designing in InDesign, updating standard forms.
    • Analyzes pre-qualification and solicitation requirements, prepares proposal plan to include proposal components (graphics, resumes, narrative, etc.), outlines, tasks, schedules and responsibilities.
    • Working with engineering, business development and operations personnel to implement pursuit win strategies, appropriately incorporate sales messages, and produce professional proposals and oral presentations.
    • Managing multiple proposals and qualifications submissions simultaneously in an effective and efficient manner under tight deadlines. Understand how to manage time appropriately.
    • Developing corporate standards to present a consistent appearance and style for external marketing communications, including qualification packages, presentation graphics, advertisements, and awards submissions.
    • Assisting with writing/editing sales materials including project descriptions, resumes, brochures, corporate news for use in the company’s proposals, website and social media accounts.
    • Managing reference, marketing, and materials libraries and their accompanying catalog listings
    • Searching for images pertaining to various categories for internal and client-facing presentations
    • Assisting in the development of the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
    • Maintaining the firm’s contact databases
    • Position may involve working overtime as necessary to meet pursuit deadlines.

    Qualifications

    • BA or BS degree preferred.
    • Minimum of three years of experience in A/E/C industry or marketing professional services preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access required.
    • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) required.
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS is a plus.
    • Excellent creative designing and writing skills required.
    • Time management skills required.
    • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills required.
    • Organized, self-directed, and proactive capabilities.
    • Professional, friendly, and comfortable communicating in person, over email, and on the telephone.
    • Comfortable in a busy and creative environment with many personalities.
    • A team player who wants to engage in M&J’s office culture.
