Responsibilities

We are seeking a Design Project Manager to work as a member of our North Haven, CT team on projects including transportation; land development; urban infill and redevelopment; municipal infrastructure and community projects; green infrastructure; renewable energy; educational facilities; climate resiliency; and more.

Under the general direction of our New England Region Manager, you will lead an outstanding staff while you plan, direct, and coordinate activities related to multiple transportation, site/civil, and infrastructure projects. You will take the lead during proposal development, design, permitting, and construction administration for an array of transportation, site development, infrastructure, and community projects; mentor and train less experienced engineers; prepare permit applications and meet with permitting agencies; present at public hearings; and manage project design teams. You will support business development and staff recruitment activities and maintain positive client relationships. In this role, you will also be responsible for client and internal communications and maintaining the high standards of work we produce through the Quality Assurance/Quality Control.

This position will reside full-time in our North Haven, CT office. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Connecticut PE license
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience with high-level transportation and civil engineering design
  • At least 2 years of prior project management and supervisory/mentoring experience is preferred
  • Experience with local and state permitting in Connecticut
  • Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HydroCAD skills are preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
