M&J Engineering is growing as a design firm and a leader in construction management and inspection, ITS, mechanical, electrical, wastewater, water supply, tunnel airport, port, marine/coastal, environmental engineering, and design-build services for both new infrastructure projects and renovations. M&J is actively pursuing a Civil Engineers to work in our Farmingdale office. The ideal candidate must have strong quantitative skillsets to support municipal projects in the northeast, primarily on Long Island. This position will work closely with project managers to support clients with civil engineering design for roadways and highways, vertical and horizontal alignments, pavement section design, drainage system design. Experience with stormwater, wastewater, waterfront, resiliency/mitigation, and civil/site projects a plus. The successful candidate will work as a team member to support routine and non-routine assignments related to civil and environmental projects of substantial variety and complexity.

Collaborating with our experienced Civil Professionals, you will support, drive, and manage the development of projects, interact, and work directly with clients, and develop your technical and project management capabilities. Manage tasks/projects and clients’ expectations for the planning, design and construction of various Infrastructure, Roadway, Water/Wastewater treatment plants, storm water systems, distribution/collection systems, and/or pump/lift stations as well as creating construction documents, specifications, and handling construction oversight/administration.

• 4-15+ years experience in municipal road and drainage design and construction. Waterfront improvement experience is a plus.
• P.E. in New York State is a plus
• Bachelors in Civil Engineering or similar degree
• Must be familiar with municipal contracts
• Experience with managing a team of engineers
• Experience with interfacing with engineering, and drafting support disciplines
• Experience with client interfacing
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• ACAD experience a plus
