M&J Engineering has a need for an Electrical Engineer in our ITS/Technology group.  Our clients are predominantly DOTs and Toll Authorities. 

Responsibilities

Research, design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, or scientific use. Perform daily field visits to inspect the installation, operation & maintenance of ITS devices installed along the Highways, Thruway Authority. Perform OTDR testing, ground resistance testing, circuit breaker testing. Evaluate the Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to ensure the equipment meets the project requirements. Verify the procurement & testing procedures of the ITS assets and their communication connectivity to the end users (Traffic Management Center). Submit the CAD/Micro station drawings for each ITS asset being deployed in the field. Perform changes/updates to the Network Diagram of the project using Microsoft Visio tool. Use of AASHTO SiteManager Construction tool daily.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from a NCEES recognized university.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in the active development of design plan sets with strong CAD capability.
  • Expertise with communications including fiber optics and wireless transmission is preferred.
  • Salary commensurate with experience and proven capability.
