We are seeking a Resident Engineer/Superintendent and Construction Inspectors for exciting and growth opportunities within our Construction Management Division. Positions are open for several projects within Nassau County, NY.  

 

Location: Based out of our Farmingdale or New Hyde Park Offices

Responsibilities

The Resident Engineer/ Superintendent leads and supervises / manages a field staff (including monitoring budgets) for inspection of construction; reviews the construction schedule and leads meetings; reviews and monitors the Contractor's for contract compliance; reviews and provides recommendations to the Design Engineer concerning Contractor’s Requests and serves as the Owner’s on-site representative to coordinate and monitor matters of quality, schedule, cost, substantial conformance to the contract document. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  •  Acts as a primary interface between design engineers, trades, field personnel, and the client to ensure proper project execution
  • Knowledge of building and design codes
  • Prior experience with the Building Construction Management is desirable
  • Acts as a technical resource on specifications, codes and standards, design requirements, construction methods, problem resolution, and constructability issues

The Inspector will inspect various aspects construction activities and perform to ensure compliance with the contract provisions. Responsibilities include inspection of daily construction work ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications, minimum testing of materials, review contractor submittals, requests for information and coordinate with the contractor, prepare daily inspection reports, perform field measurements of pay items, provide computations for pay items, participate in meetings, prepare meeting minutes and follow up action items and other responsibilities as warranted.

Qualifications

  •  At least 3+ years of experience with Building construction
  • Knowledge of building and design codes
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, required.
  • Special Inspection certifications, a plus
  • Reliable transportation required
  • OSHA 10 Hours certification is required

Ideally, You’ll Also Have :

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM), LEED, Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect license/certification
  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager in an Engineering, Environmental or Construction organization
  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, and building construction
