Job Description
M&J is currently seeking a Construction Scheduler assigned to our NYC office, who will be working onsite at our project in Jamica, NY. The position is a 1 year long contract, with an option to extend or transfer to other existing contracts we have ongoing

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Scheduler to join our team for a project with the a rail infrastructure firm in the NYC area. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and a strong background in Earned Value Management (EVM), Time Impact Analysis (TIA), delay claims, and change order management. This role is critical for ensuring the timely and effective scheduling, tracking, and management of all phases of the construction project.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and manage detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 for the project.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential schedule impacts, and prepare Time Impact Analysis (TIA) to assess delays and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to assess project performance and provide accurate reporting of schedule, cost, and resource utilization.
  • Analyze project delays and work with stakeholders to develop and submit delay claims and change orders as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual scheduling requirements, including timely submittal of baseline and updated schedules.
  • Provide schedule risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to avoid delays or overruns.
  • Coordinate with LIRR personnel to ensure project schedules align with the operational requirements of the rail system.
  • Regularly communicate schedule updates and changes to the project team and relevant stakeholders.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in construction scheduling, specifically with Primavera P6.
  • Strong experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), Time Impact Analysis (TIA), and delay claim analysis.
  • Proven ability to handle change orders and understand contract implications related to schedule changes.
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects, preferably within the rail industry (LIRR experience is a plus).
  • Ability to interpret and apply contractual language related to scheduling, delays, and claims.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with the Long Island Rail Road or other major transportation agencies.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) is a plus.

 

Salary level is commensurate with applicable experience, education, and certifications.
