Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Civil or Environmental Inspector to support ongoing NYCDDC (NYC Department of Design and Construction) projects in Downtown Manhattan. This role is critical for monitoring excavation activities and ensuring proper handling and removal of contaminated materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform on-site inspection and monitoring of excavation activities, with a focus on identifying and managing contaminated materials.
  • Ensure compliance with DDC specifications, environmental regulations, and project safety standards.
  • Document field activities, contamination findings, and remediation efforts.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and environmental consultants to ensure proper contamination removal procedures.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project records

Qualifications

  • NICET Level II or higher certification in Construction, Civil, or Environmental Engineering Technology.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering preferred.
  • Preferred Minimum of 3 years of relevant field inspection experience, including:
    • DDC project experience (preferred).
    • Contamination monitoring and removal (required).
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and remediation practices.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Must be currently available and billable.

Salary range: $50-$65/Hour
