Responsibilities

Join our team as a Catenary Engineer and take the lead in overseeing the design, coordination, and implementation of catenary systems for major rail infrastructure projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of overhead contact systems, from reviewing technical plans to managing field installations and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Ideal for professionals with a strong background in civil or electrical engineering, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects across the rail network.

  • Ensure the project activities comply with the agency’s requirements.
  • Understand and able to apply catenary calculations to practical application
  • Monitoring subcontractor’s field installation work
  • Coordinates activities of actual field conditions with design drawing packages
  • Attend meetings with DB staff
  • Available for night and weekend shifts to supervise inspection staff and support field installation
  • Review design unit packages and plans to determine the time frame and procedure for accomplishing project staffing requirements and allocating available resources to various project phases.
  • Manage material certifications and submittals and ensure adherence to specs and agency requirements.

Qualifications

Degree Qualifications: BS in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering  or demonstrated equivalency of education

 

Work Experience: 6+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience

 

Preferred Industry Knowledge:

  1. Familiar with Design-Build Projects
  2. Amtrak Northeast corridor
  3. Worked or retired from Amtrak
  4. CSX track training and Amtrak track training

 

Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000
