M&J Engineering is a leader in construction management and inspection, ITS, mechanical, electrical, wastewater, water supply, tunnel airport, port, marine/coastal, environmental engineering, and design-build services for both new infrastructure projects and renovations.

 

The Senior Architect plays a lead role in planning, designing, and reviewing architectural components of various projects across WMATA’s transit system. This position ensures architectural designs are functional, safe, sustainable, and aligned with WMATA’s brand, operational standards, and community integration goals. The Senior Architect provides technical leadership and design oversight on WMATA projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project delay analyses comparing current status versus baseline (during award);
  • Prepare artifacts for contract negotiations;
  • Review project status and schedule updates with WMATA field teams;
  • Review contractor claims;
  • Develop presentations;
  • Review schedules; and
  • Attend in-person meetings as directed.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an ABET accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in architecture;
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of architectural experience with emphasis on transit and rail
    industries;
  • Mastery of building codes, design specifications, and recommended practices in architecture; and
  • Registered license in Architecture in the State of Maryland, the Commonwealth of Virginia, or the District of Columbia.

 

 Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in architecture; and
- Familiarity with WMATA’s design criteria and standards.

 

Salary: $180,000 - $220,000
