M&J is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in accessibility compliance to support WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority) projects. This role focuses on ensuring civil engineering designs and construction activities comply with ADA, ABAAS, and other accessibility standards.

• Lead the review of civil engineering designs and construction plans to ensure compliance with ADA, ABAAS, and other accessibility regulations.
• Conduct field inspections and audits of WMATA stations, facilities, and infrastructure to verify accessibility compliance.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate accessibility solutions and resolve field compliance issues.
• Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and recommendations for corrective actions on non-compliant elements.
• Advise project teams on best practices for accessible design and construction.
• Support quality assurance procedures throughout all project phases, including design, construction, and closeout.
• Stay current with federal, state, and local accessibility regulations and apply them to project planning and execution.
• Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in civil engineering projects with a focus on accessibility compliance, preferably for transit or public infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of ADA, ABAAS, UFAS, and other accessibility guidelines.
• Experience working on WMATA or similar transit agency projects is highly preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other civil engineering design software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Certification as an Accessibility Specialist (e.g., CASp, ADA Coordinator) is a plus.
